The phonetic transcriptions for Cantonese, Putonghua and English words presented on the webpage are respectively based on Sik-ling Wong’s system, hanyu pinyin transliteration system, and Daniel Jones’ system. The transcriptions are aimed at encouraging hearing-impaired students of the School to learn of pronunciation of words for the purpose of teaching and private study only. Before activating the functions of browsing history and quiz records associated with the online LSD Visual Sign Language Dictionary, a user must complete the registration process and set up an account. A password generated by the system will be sent to the user, who may change it on logging in for the first time.
